Norse top Augusta for first win
The Whitehall baseball team finally broke through with a 12-2 win over Augusta on Friday.
The game, also Whitehall’s home opener, came after the Norse lost to Melrose-Mindoro, 11-10, on Tuesday. No further details from the loss to Mel-Min were reported before press time, but it was Whitehall’s second one-run loss to start the season. On Friday, however, the Norse took an early lead and never looked back.
The Norse (1-2) played at Independence/Gilmanton on Monday of this week and will host Osseo-Fairchild on Thursday. The team welcomes Alma/Pepin this coming Tuesday and Cochrane-Fountain City next Thursday.
