Norse wrestlers sweep Durand duals

The Whitehall wrestling team picked up two dual wins, taking advantage of a handful of forfeits to top Durand and Mondovi in Durand on Friday.

The Norse received eight forfeits in a 72-12 win over Durand. Receiving the free points were Lucas Paske (182), Eric Kleinhans (195), Corbin Larson (220), Frank Juresh (106), Nolan Thompson (113), Andy Flores (120), Matthew Poulos (145) and Broc Coburn (152).

Whitehall also won four of the five matches settled on the mat.

Theodore Mikesell (160) pinned Katherine Sillars in 52 seconds before Luke Matejka (170) stuck Magnus Lukic. The Norse also got pins by Markus Petersen (126) over Lexus Carmody and Oriah Anderson (138) over Brady Mansmith. 

The Norse then defeated Mondovi, 42-39, individual match results were not reported to the Times. 

Whitehall will begin Dairyland Conference competition in Independence on Thursday then return to the neighboring city for the Indee Invite on Saturday. DC competition continues next Thursday at Cochrane-Fountain City.
