Senior Casidi Pehler will continue her track and field career beyond the gates that surround the track at Arcadia High School.

Pehler announced on Friday her commitment to join the Division 1 North Dakota State University track and field team this fall.

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic careers at North Dakota State University,” Pehler said in a Facebook post on Friday. “Thank you to my family, friends, coaches who have helped me along my journey and thank you God. I am truly blessed.”

Pehler’s commitment was highly sought after by multiple programs across the midwest—the defending state champion pole vaulter visited the University of Minnesota, Minnesota State Mankato, UW-La Crosse and North Dakota State.

Pehler won a 2023 WIAA Division Two state championship in pole vault last June and aspires for another state title run—and a state record—in her final season as a Raider.

"I have this (state title) now, and next year the state record is honestly the next thing up there,” Pehler told the Times earlier this year. “So I'm going to continue to put more time in the offseason with that goal in mind so I can come back and hopefully have a good attempt at that.”
