Pirates run over Wildcats in DC play

The Blair-Taylor football team had no answer for Aidan Lisowski and the Cochrane-Fountain City running game in Friday’s 47-6 road loss.

Lisowski ran for 191 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries — an average of nearly 16 yards per attempt. But he wasn’t alone as C-FC totaled 296 yards and five touchdowns, averaging nearly 12 yards per carry. 

C-FC quarterback Parker Kujak completed both of his pass attempts for 22 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 67 yards and two touchdowns on five rushes, and added an interception on defense. 

It wasn’t all bad news for Blair-Taylor as the Wildcats found the end zone for the first time this season. 

C-FC did all of its scoring in the first half with three touchdowns in the first quarter and four in the second to take a 47-0 lead into halftime. B-T finally broke through in the fourth quarter when quarterback Matthew Beck hit Brady Thompson for a three-yard touchdown. 

Beck was three-for-six passing for 11 yards and a touchdown. He also led the team with 44 rushing yards on 17 carries. Anthony Haas added 30 yards on 18 attempts. Thompson ran once for three yards and Ty Tranberg had two carries for one yard. 

Evan Boe caught two passes for eight yards. 

Haas was B-T’s leading tackler with five stops.

The loss put B-T at 0-4 on the season, but the team has likely played its most difficult competition. To date, B-T’s opponents have a combined record of 14-2. C-FC is the top-ranked Division Seven team in the Bound Wisconsin Coaches Poll, Alma/Pepin is ranked fourth and both River Ridge and Arcadia are 3-1. 

This week the Wildcats host a fellow winless team, Eleva-Strum. The Cardinals are coming off a 22-20 loss to Augusta. Next week B-T hits the road again, this time heading to Independence/Gilmanton to take on an Indees team that has yet to win this season and is coming off a forfeit loss to Whitehall.
