Pleasantville Lions Fourth of July tourney begins Friday

 

The annual Fourth of July fastpitch softball tournament hosted by the Pleasantville Lions Club begins this Friday with six teams competing.

The first game will be played at 6:30 p.m. when the Pleasantville Lions team plays Ritter Hardware. My Second Home and Foster Fireside will then play at 8 p.m. that night before a fireworks show at 10 p.m.

Games begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday when Wiener’s Bar plays Pleasantville. My Second Home plays Cushing Tigers at noon before Foster and Cushing square off at 2 p.m. and Ritter and Wiener’s play at 4. 

Sunday’s events begin at 10 a.m. with a prelude to the worship service with Debbie Dahl on the keyboard with grandchildren Colton and Carly Dahl. The Dahls will continue to play at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Scott Brown will speak during the worship.

The Citizen of the Year Award will be presented at 11:30 a.m. A pie and ice cream social begins at noon at the town hall. 

Softball resumes and will conclude on Sunday with games beginning at noon and played every two hours in a single-elimination seeded playoff format. The championship game is scheduled for 8 p.m. 

Throughout the weekend charcoal chicken, bratwurst, hot dogs and refreshments will be served.
