A pair of losses last week ended the 2024 regular season for the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Red Hawks Post 354 19U legion baseball team.

Post 354 (7-9 this summer) fell in a game at West Salem High School last Thursday before closing the regular season with another tight effort in Coon Valley on Sunday.

The G-E-T team will be one of six playing in a Class A regional tournament at Bangor High School this week. Post 354 opens play against host Bangor at 5 p.m. Thursday.

If they win game one of the double-elimination tournament, they advance to play at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. A Thursday loss will result in a noon game on Friday.

A last inning showing for Post 354 was offset by a walk-off score for host West Salem last Thursday.

Koen Molling scored on an outfield single in the bottom of the seventh, ending the late hope for G-E-T.

Oliver Marley hit 3-for-4 with three singles for Post 354, and Myles Marley finished 2-for-4. Caiden Brady hit 2-for-4 also, and Tucker McDonah had the final hit for G-E-T, which outhit West Salem eight to six.

Myles Marley pitched for G-E-T, finishing with seven strikeouts and four walks. Will Schmidt, Brendon Ghelfi and Terry Boland pitched for the hosts, combining for five strikeouts and five walks.
