The Arcadia High School softball team remained perfect in Coulee Conference play with a win over Black River Falls last week.

Arcadia silenced the Tigers with a 5-0 shutout last Friday, a win that improved the Raiders to 3-0 in the Coulee. Arcadia is 5-2 overall after a loss to Cochrane-Fountain City last Thursday.

Plenty of softball is ahead for the Raiders this week. Coach Dave Bjorge and his team prepare for four games in five days, beginning with a trip to Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau on Monday and a home game against Luther on Tuesday.

A back-to-back against fellow unbeaten Coulee squad West Salem (4-2, 4-0 Coulee) begins with a home game on Thursday and ends with a game at West Salem on Friday.

The Pirates (5-3, 4-1 Dairyland Small) scored five runs in the last two innings to steal the lead and the win last Thursday at home.

Six different players had hits for Arcadia, which scored twice in the first inning thanks to Brynn Aspen and Kaitlyn Bremer. Arcadia retook the lead 3-2 after Jordan Walters stole two bases on her way to the lead-changing score.

The Pirates tied the game in the fifth before their late scores won the game.

Bremer was the starting pitcher for Arcadia and allowed seven hits and a single walk, also throwing six strikeouts.
