Raiders drop three as regular season comes to an end

The Arcadia softball team struggled on both ends as they were outscored 31-3 in three games last week.
The Raiders managed just one run and six hits total as they were swept by Westby, 10-0 and 11-1, last week Tuesday. It didn’t get much better on Friday when they lost to La Crosse Aquinas, 10-2. No further information from the Aquinas game was reported to the Times.
Arcadia’s last regular season game was Tuesday when they hosted Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau. On Thursday, the ninth-seeded Raiders travel to (8) Stratford to begin Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association play. The winner of that game will head to (1) Prescott for the regional semifinal round this coming Tuesday.
Westby 10 Arcadia 0
The Raiders managed just one hit as Westby took the lead in the third inning.
The Norsemen scored two in the third before adding three in the fourth, four in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Arcadia’s only hit came from Kianna Suchla, who led off with a single. The Raiders had runners on second and third in the first inning, but couldn’t bring the home.
Bjorge took the loss, striking out three with one walk and 10 hits.
Westby 11 Arcadia 1
The Raiders struck first, but it was the only run they’d score.
Suchla led off with a single and came around to score on a single by Catherine Pehler. The Raiders had two on in the first inning, but couldn’t score any more runs.
Westby wasted little time taking control of the game. They answered with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, two more in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth and ended the game by the mercy rule with one in the fifth.
Kaitlyn Bremer got the loss for Arcadia, allowing two walks and 13 hits while striking out one.
Arcadia had five hits in the game, two by Suchla, two by Pehler and Bjorge had one.
