Raiders lose two in volleyball action
Matches — one that required a tiebreaker and the other being a sweep — both ended with Arcadia on the wrong end of the stat sheet in the Raider volleyball team’s two contests last week.
Arcadia lost to Cochrane-Fountain City last Tuesday, and conference opponent Westby handled the Raiders on Thursday.
The regular season comes to a close for Arcadia (9-12 overall, 5-4 Coulee Conference) this week with two more Coulee teams on the schedule. County foe G-E-T visits Arcadia on Tuesday before the latter hits the road to play Black River Falls on Thursday.

The Pirates took advantage of an early lead in last Tuesday’s match against their county opponent.
Cochrane-Fountain City beat the Raiders in a battle that required five sets as the visitors improved to 20-7 on the season. The Pirates continue to be one of the teams to beat in the Dairyland Conference (6-1 in conference play).
Arcadia turned the match into a fight on Tuesday, recovering to tie the match at two sets apiece after dropping the opening two.
The hosts dropped the tiebreaker match 15-9 to lose the match in five sets.

Arcadia held an early lead in set two against the Norsemen, but Westby (17-10, 8-2 Coulee) stormed back to win its second-straight set.
The teams were tied at 12, 15 and 19 points in the second set and won the match on an ace in set three.
