Raiders sixth at Logan meet

Competing against some larger schools, the Arcadia boys and girls track teams both finished sixth at the La Crosse Logan A-B-C Invitational on Friday.

Friday’s meet was unique in that it separated competitors into A, B and C fields with the top–ranked athlete from each school competing in the “A” field, second-ranked in the “B” field and third in the “C” field. As a result, team scores were high as each field was scored using the 10-point scale and the total points were combined.

The Raiders competed again on Monday of this week, hosting a meet. They’ll head to West Salem for the conference meet on June 5.

A-B-C Invite

The meet format allowed several other competitors to make an impact, but being the smallest school in the competition, the Raiders finished last in the meet.

The top performing competitor in the A-field for Arcadia was Charlie Siewert, who took second in both the shot put and discus. The Arcadia boys also got a third-place finish from Rylie Pronschinske in the A-field of the pole vault.

Joe Nelson took second in the C-field for the discus while Caleb Glenzinski and Jose Verde were third-place finishers in the C pole vault and 300 hurdles.

Kianna Suchla and Tegan Michalak were the top A-field competitors for the the Arcadia girls, taking third in the 800 and 1600.

Casidi Pehler was second in the B-pole vault and third in the B-high jump. Jessica Kupka was second in the B-triple jump as was Brooke Slaby in the B-discus.

Rylee Kolstad took third in the B-1600 while Josei Pehler, and Sky Reit were third in the C 400 and triple jump.
