Raiders stuck by Norse in CC dual

 

The Arcadia wrestling team didn't manage to win a single match, but avoided a shutout by receiving a forfeit against Westby on Thursday.

Westby won the first five matches before a forfeit put Arcadia on the board. The Norse finished by winning six more matches with two double forfeits. The loss put Arcadia's dual record at 0-14-1 on the season before they finish the regular season at the Coulee Conference tournament at Black River Falls on Saturday. Next Saturday, the Raiders will host the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division Two regional.

Westby 57 Arcadia 6 - After starting with a forfeit at 195 pounds, Westby picked up two straight pins with Dylan Nottestad (220) topping Ty Schlesser and Ty Harbaugh (285) topping Brian Sabillon. The closest Arcadia came to winning a match was when Westby's Bryce Hoskins (106) defeated Hunter Fitzpatrick 8-7. Another forfeit put the Norsemen ahead 27-0 before Arcadia's Hector Hernandez (120) received a forfeit. After a double forfeit at 126 pounds, Arcadia had to forfeit at 132. Trevor Lemke (138) and Garret Vatland (145) followed with pins over John Reyes and Aundrea Severson before Alex Hebel (152) topped Cruz Patzner 8-6. Arcadia suffered another close loss as Clay Nottestad (160) edged Nolan Niemierowicz 3-2 before Conor Catland (170) pinned Martin Aguilar. The dual ended with a double forfeit at 182 pounds.
