The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau high school boys basketball team split a pair of close games last week as the 2022-23 season approaches the finish line.

The Red Hawks (11-11 overall, 5-5 Coulee Conference) edged Elk Mound last Monday with a second half comeback before falling to conference opponent Black River Falls by one score on Friday.

A pair of conference games this week—at Viroqua (1-21, 0-11) on Monday and at Luther (21-1, 9-1) on Thursday—will close the regular season for G-E-T.

The Red Hawks will be seeded sixth in the upcoming playoffs, which open with a home game against No. 11 Altoona this coming Tuesday.
