Red Hawk girls drop two
The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau girls basketball team lost a pair of games to Coulee Conference opponents last week.
The Red Hawks (5-17, 4-8 Coulee) lost to the West Salem Panthers last Tuesday before falling in a tighter contest to Westby on Friday. Full statistics from the games were not reported to the Times.
A visit from Whitehall (13-8 overall) this Tuesday will be followed by a trip to Sparta (6-16) this Thursday as the Red Hawks close the regular season.
Ninth-seeded Adams-Friendship (4-19) will visit G-E-T High School on Tuesday, Feb. 20 to open the 2024 postseason against the eighth-seeded Red Hawks.
W. Salem 82 G-E-T 22
The Coulee Conference champion Panthers finished their conference schedule a perfect 12-0 by beating G-E-T last Tuesday on the road.
West Salem (19-4 this season) saw Megan Johnson score 25 points as she hit 1,000 in her career for the Panthers.

Two Red Hawks scored at least 10 points but the host Norse (6-17, 3-9 Coulee) escaped with a win last Friday.
Halene DeJager scored 11 points for G-E-T, and Tatum Johnson added 10 for the visitors. Westby sophomore Katelyn Benish led all players with 13 points.
