Red Hawk girls drop two in conference play

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau high school girls basketball team dropped a pair of Coulee Conference efforts last week and fell to 2-13 on the year.

The Red Hawks played Arcadia close on Tuesday (see story elsewhere in Sports) before Westby took care of business against G-E-T on Friday.

Viroqua (3-11, 0-6 Coulee) was scheduled to host G-E-T (2-5 Coulee) for more conference action this Monday.

One of the top teams in the Coulee Conference shut down the G-E-T offense last Friday.

Westby allowed the host Red Hawks to score just four points after halftime, building on a first half that saw the visitors take a 43-14 lead.

Westby senior Kennedy Brueggen led all players with 18 points. Navaeh Becker paced G-E-T with seven.
