A week that featured ample sun and even more heat last week also saw plenty of offense from the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau senior legion baseball team in a Monday win over Tomah. Post 354 then dropped both games in a doubleheader to La Crosse on Tuesday.

Post 354 was scheduled to host Onalaska on Monday before visiting the La Crosse North Stars on Thursday.

G-E-T 14 Tomah 1

The Red Hawks scored 11 runs over the final three innings on Monday, silencing host Tomah despite only registering a handful of hits.

Zach Grams doubled on the game’s first pitch, and Owen Eddy drove him home on the second throw. Eddy and Warren Stoner both scored for G-E-T to give the visitors a 3-0 lead in the first inning.

Grams led the way for G-E-T on offense, batting 2 for 3 with 3 RBI on a pair of doubles.

Thomas Haney and Cole Williams combined to allow four hits over six innings from the mound, with Haney supplying a pair of strikeouts.

La Crosse bombarded the Red Hawks with five runs in the top of the first inning before G-E-T could register an out in game one on Tuesday–and added another before the inning ended–to set the tone in a lopsided loss.

The Red Hawks scored one run in the second inning and added another pair in the bottom of the seventh inning Brady Seiling had two hits including a double, and Cole Williams had a double, too.

Collin Handke got the start for G-E-T, striking out three batters while walking two. La Crosse finished with 12 hits.

Game two on Tuesday wasn’t any kinder to the hosts, as La Crosse opened with a 10-run first inning.

Seiling again paced the Red Hawks with two hits, recording a double and a triple. La Crosse registered 12 hits, six of the extra-base variety. La Crosse pitcher Tyler Konkle holstered G-E-T by allowing four hits.

Ben Hansen and Brendan Brady pitched for G-E-T.
