Red Hawks split with Mauston, Logan

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School boys basketball team last week gave fans a pair of games that both came down to the final buzzer, with the Red Hawks splitting the efforts.

Coach Jared McCutchen and his team lost by one in overtime on Tuesday before rebounding with a tight win over La Crosse Logan on Thursday. Junior Cody Schmitz kept his impressive start to the season going with a pair of double-double performances.

The Red Hawks (2-1 this season) were scheduled to host Bangor this Tuesday before traveling to Westby on Friday for their first Coulee Conference clash of the year.
