Royall halts B-T boys win streak at five
A five game winning streak for the Blair-Taylor High School boys basketball team came to a close last Saturday in a tight loss at Royall.
The Wildcats started the week with a win over Alma/Pepin on Tuesday and followed the effort by nearly doubling up Eleva-Strum on Friday.
Blair-Taylor (12-7 overall, 6-4 Dairyland Large) was scheduled to play Port Edwards on Tuesday before hosting Whitehall on Thursday.

The offense clicked early for the Wildcats on Tuesday, who overcame late turnovers and numerous three-pointers from the host Rivermen to open the week as winners.
Blair-Taylor led 31-17 at halftime and built their lead to as much as 19 points in the second half.
Caden Kruse (14 points, 14 rebounds) and Evan Nehring (11 points, 11 rebounds) both recorded double doubles for the Wildcats, while Kyle Obieglo scored 13 points.
“You have to hand it to our guys,” Blair-Taylor coach Randy Storlie told the Times. “We battled the entire game and made it hard on them on every possession to score.”

Both teams exploded offensively in the second half after a very quiet first, but it was the visiting Wildcats who left happy in a Dairyland Large bout on Friday.
Blair-Taylor earned its fifth straight win in the process, turning a 20-11 lead at halftime into a 43-point outburst in the second and the win over the Cardinals (3-14, 2-9 DC).
Four players scored at least 11 points for the Wildcats, co-led by junior Jaren Swanson and senior Cain Fremstad, both with 14. Nehring added his second double-double of the week with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Wildcats chased their Scenic Bluffs opponent from the start on Saturday, gathering their first loss in their last six games.
Royall (10-8 this season) led by eight at halftime, and Blair-Taylor fell just short of the come from behind win. Blair-Taylor outscored the hosts 26-21 in the second half but couldn’t hit the key shot late.
Nehring led the Wildcats with 18 points.
