One week after losing their first game of the 2021-22 season at the hands of Bangor, the Blair-Taylor High School girls basketball team got back to its winning ways.
The Wildcats (8-1 this season) downed visiting Cashton 83-54 last Thursday behind big offensive performances from juniors Lindsay Steien and Abby Thompson.
Steien scored 25 of her 31 points in the first half to help the hosts to a 45-21 lead at halftime.
Thompson finished with 18 points and was the only Wildcat to hit multiple threes (two). Braylee Hyatt of Cashton (5-6) matched Steien with 31 points, including 12 free throws.
The Wildcats shot 48.4 percent from the field and took care of the ball with just 11 turnovers. They were able to get a number of easy looks, finishing with 22 steals, including seven by Thompson, who also had seven assists.
Blair-Taylor visited G-E-T on Monday.
