Titan wrestlers beat Viroqua, Wrightstown

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau/Melrose-Mindoro High School wrestling team won both of its duals last week, the first a dominating performance over Viroqua on Tuesday before beating Wrightstown at an Aquinas dual on Friday.

The Titans were scheduled to visit Kasson/Mantorville on Tuesday as well as participate in a tournament at Arcadia on Saturday.

G/M 66, Viroqua 9

The Titans opened the week by making quick work of visiting Viroqua on Tuesday.

Brooks Johnson (120), Jackson Blaken (126), Tanner Andersen (145), Carson Koss (152) and Alex Wieczorek (170) all earned pins at the event. Ethan Dobbs earend a win by 8-7 decision at 132 pounds, and Ben Peterson won by a 2-0 decision at 160 pounds. Justice Vaaler earned a win by a 5-3 decision at 195.

Bradyn Lockington (220), Thomas Haney (285), Landon Windsor (138), Tyden Jones (113) and Terek Fry (106) all won by forfeit.

G/M 46, Wrightstown 25

The Titans kept the wins coming on Friday, beating Wrightstown in a dual at Aquinas High School.

Wieczorek, Mitch Berg (182), Johnson, Blaken and Koss each pinned their opponent as the Titans won the first four matches.

Peterson won by a 7-4 decision at 160 pounds, and Vaaler won by a 15-2 major decision. Andersen also won his event by a decision, 7-2.
