Titans sweep duals at Mauston triangular
As the Coulee conference tournament draws near, the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau/Melrose-Mindoro Titans continued to impress on the mats in their most recent triangular.
The Titans outbattled Mauston/Necedah for a 43-32 win in their dual and then blanked Wisconsin Dells 84-0 at a triangular last Thursday in Mauston.
G-E-T/Mel-Min was awarded six points via a forfeit victory against Mauston/Necedah, but otherwise still outscored them 37-32 in the 13 contested matches. Winners via pinfall for the Titans were Colton Koss (120 pounds), Brody Banse (132), Scott Johnson (150), and Brent Cox (165).
Jayce Stetzer (144) and Aaron Dunigan (215) each had technical fall victories while Koda Purney (113) defeated Landynn Miller via a 10-3 decision.
In the dual against Wisconsin Dells, there were six Titan wrestlers who earned pinfall victories: Purney, Koss, Gunnar Kremer (126), Johnson, Braden Peterson (175) and Benjamin Hansen (285).
The Titans were back in action for a dual in Holmen Tuesday at 7:15 p.m., followed by the Coulee conference tournament on Friday in Westby starting at 4 p.m.
