The Whitehall girls’ basketball team had two players picked for the All-Dairyland Conference First Team, the most of any school.
Senior Trinity Aasen and freshman Paige Lisowski were both first-team selections for the Norse. Aasen has a breakout campaign, leading the DC-Large Division in rebounding, averaging 9.9 per game, and finishing fifth in scoring at 13.3 points per game. Those averages were up from 7.3 points and 5.6 rebounds as a junior.
Lisowski established herself as one of the best players in the conference as a freshman, finishing second in the DC-Large with at 15.1 points per game. Lisowski was the only freshman to make either the first or second team. The Norse tied with Independence/Gilmanton for second in the DC-Large, behind Eleva-Strum.
I/G junior Arabelle Kniseley was a first-team selection despite suffering a shoulder injury early in the season. She only missed one game with the injury but wore a brace for the rest of the season. She averaged 11.8 points per game and finished amongst the top three-point shooters, making 35.4 percent of her shots from beyond the arc.
B-T junior Andrea Waldera was also picked for the first team after leading the Wildcats to a DC-Small Division title. Waldera averaged 14.8 points — good for fourth in the DC-Small — and 9.8 rebounds — second in the division.
Avery Glenz represented DC-Large champion Eleva-Strum on the first team. She led the Cardinals to the sectional final round and led the division with an average of 18.4 points per game. Other first-team members included Kaelyn Comero, Cochrane-Fountain City; Ava Cummings, Alma Center Lincoln; Anna Radcliffe, Melrose-Mindoro and Cheyenne Wales, Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran.
Two of Waldera’s classmates made the All-DC second team in Samantha Aguilar and Andi Beck. Beck averaged 11.2 points per game, slightly more than Aguilar (10.7). Beck was second in the conference in assists per game (4) and Aguilar was sixth in rebounding (7.3 per game).
I/G sophomore Nora Schank was named to the second team after leading the conference in assists (3.9) and steals (4.3) per game, while also averaging 10.1 points.
The rest of the second-team members were Hallie Knudtson, Osseo-Fairchild; Allidah Luff, Alma/Pepin; Gabi Radichel, ECIL; Mackenzie Wenger, C-FC; Stella Zank, Augusta and Cooper Zeman, Mel-Min.
While the All-DC boys’ team was made up predominantly of seniors, the All-DC girls’ team had just four seniors taking up the 18 positions.
