Westby remains unbeaten with girls hoops win over Arcadia

A tough opening schedule continued for the Arcadia girls basketball program last week, with the Raiders dropping their only game to unbeaten Westby on Friday.

Arcadia was scheduled to play Onalaska last Tuesday, but the game was canceled due to weather.

The Raiders (0-3) will look for their first win of the season this week, hosting La Crosse Logan on Monday before traveling to Viroqua for a Coulee Conference matchup on Thursday.

Three different players scored at least 10 points for Westby to help the visitors win the conference opener on Friday.

A 32-20 halftime lead turned into a wider final spread for the visitors. Breah Golden paced Arcadia with nine points, and freshman Justine Sonsalla added seven for the Raiders.

Kenzie Stellner led all scorers with 12 points for the Norse (4-0), who were helped by 11 points from Hanna Nelson and 10 from Jayda Berg.
