Whitehall third in first two DC golf meets
The top Dairyland Conference golf standings appear to be set as there has been a large gap between the top three teams and the rest of the conference.
Whitehall has been third in both meets, shooting more than 65 strokes better than the fourth-place team in both meets. Eleva-Strum has been firmly in second and Cochrane-Fountain City won the first two meets by double digits.
The teams competed in a DC meet in Arcadia, hosted by Independence, on Tuesday of this week then they’ll go to Osseo-Fairchild on Thursday.
DC at Eleva-Strum
The Pirates took the early lead in the Dairyland Conference standings, topping the second-place Cardinals by 11 points on Eleva-Strum’s home course, while Whitehall was third, well ahead of the rest of the pack.
Keanu Estenson led the Norse with a 48, one stroke better than Matthew Poulos. Kaiden Gaier checked in with a 59, Adam Kleinhans a 52, Michale Payne a 63 and Drake Jurowski a 67.
Whitehall’s score of 218 was nearly 100 points better than fourth-place Alma/Pepin, which came in at 313. Gilmanton came in at 329, Augusta, 332 and Independence, 343.
Charlie Baize led the Indees with a 75, while Adian Gaier scored an 82, Mitchell Halverson, 86 and Ethan Bouzek a 100.
Eleva-Strum’s Nic Ellis scored a 39 to take medalist honors as his team finished with a 192. C-FC fired a 181 with four golfers with scores of 46 or better.
DC at C-FC
The team standings were almost the same as the Norse took third.
Estenson was third overall with a 40 to lead the Norse while Jurowski came in with a 45. Kleinhans shot a 50, Brekken Kulig, 51 and Gaier and Poulos both shot 52s.
Adian Gaier led Independence with a 66, Mitchell Halverson came in at 75; Max Dejno, 87 and Ethan Bouzek, 118.
C-FC’s Cameron Lipinski was the medalist with a 37 as the Pirates shot a 165 ahead of E-S, 181; Whitehall, 193; A/P, 259; Augusta, 319; Gilmanton, 323 and Independence, 346.
