The Blair-Taylor girls basketball team made a push, but it wasn’t enough against Onalaska last week.
The Hilltoppers — coached by Tom Cowley, who previously took the Arcadia girls basketball team to the state tournament — jumped out to a 23-8 lead in the first half. The second half was different as B-T outscored Onalaska by five, however, they couldn’t overcome the deficit, losing 46-36. No further information from the game was reported to the Times.
The loss put B-T at 3-6 overall and they’re 2-2 in Dairyland Conference play, behind Whitehall (3-1) and Melrose-Mindoro (4-0) in the Large Division.
The Wildcats hosted Cashton on Thursday of this week and will play at Bangor this coming Monday.
