Wildcats sunk by Pirates

After taking a two-point lead in a low-scoring first half, the Blair-Taylor girls basketball team couldn’t keep up with Cochrane-Fountain City in the second as the Pirates won 57-43.

The Wildcats held a 20-18 advantage at the intermission, but C-FC solved its offensive woes. The Pirates put up 39 points in the second half, while B-T still struggled.

B-T shot 23 percent from the field in the game, including five-for-27 on three-point attempts. The team was also 10-for-18 from the free-throw line.

Andi Beck scored 16 to lead B-T while Samantha Aguilar finished with nine.

B-T (1-2) hosted Alma/Pepin on Tuesday of this week and heads to Eleva-Strum on Friday. This coming Tuesday, the team will welcome Melrose-Mindoro before hosting Alma Center Lincoln next Friday.
