Sam Ruiter and Ethan Burmeister had strong finishes for the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau cross country team at the state meet in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday. Burmiester finished 71st and Ruiter was 74th, both made up ground as the race progressed.            (Times photograph by Andrew Dannehy)
